Ole Askjem, started Askjem ski factory in Andebu, Norway in 1936 after learning ski production, while working at the Gravdal Ski Factory in Andebu. Gradually foreign ski manufacturers began to threaten the existence of Norwegian ski factories. Askjem ski factory merged with Kongsberg ski factory in 1972.
