The 10th Light Division (Alpine) activated in 1943, became the 10th Mountain Division in 1944 and fought in the mountains of Italy in some of the roughest terrain in the country. Although the Division was deactivated for a few decades, in 1985 the 10th Mtn. Div. was fully reactivated again. Today, mostly operating out of Fort Drum, NY, the 10th Mountain Division continues to serve this country in more ways than can be counted. Size: 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. This patch is slightly smaller than the one we used to sell, so as to better fit on ball caps, jackets and backpacks.
