This pin is the original 10th Mountain Division logo, which was worn on a patch on their jackets during their campaign in Italy, featuring the classic red cross swords of the Division. They trained in the heart of the Rocky Mountains to prepare for their endeavors in Europe during WWII. The 10th Mountain hut system is a historical remnant of these times, and they can be visited by anyone by hike.
