Sugarbush was opened in the Mad River valley in 1958, which makes it rather young in ski resort terms. Warren Miller, a beloved ski filmmaker, was particularly fond of using Sugarbush as a film set. Since 2019 Sugarbush has been owned by Alterra Mountain Company.
